Description

This handcrafted wooden icon egg features a peaceful depiction of the Virgin Mary and the Christ Child  painted by Russian artist Novikov in the Yaroslavski tradition. It also has the inscription  of “ПР БТСИ” (PR BTSI) which is shorthand for "ПРЕСВЯТАЯ БОГОРОДИЦА СПАСИ НАС " or in English "Most Holy Mother of God, save us".

Mary is shown in burgundy robes, with a green scarf, while the infant Jesus is clothed in orange and white, and all is set against a gold background.
