A small sampling of some of the new products we’ll have in the stores this year, from the Nuremberg Toy Show, the Frankfurt Xmas Show and a short trip to Poland. We will be getting some Marionettes from the Czech republic as well.

After visiting the main Sergeyev Possad factory we made a visit to Maria who’s a Matryoshka artist of some note. Her dolls have made it into exhibitions in Japan, Europe and the United States. Despite this fame she still paints in her bedroom so the dolls share space with a bed, computer and TV. She’s been painting the dolls since she was 6 years old and is consequently very fast and very good at it. Here’s a photo of Maria painting a pokework style matryoshka;
